Regardless of your status as an Annual Member, a Lifetime Member, as a representative of an Institution Member, or even just curious about becoming a Member of our cooperative, you are invited to attend and participate in the review of our work in solar since our last member meeting in May and what lies ahead for us in 2023. Only one vote per member is allowed on any actionable motions that come up during the business meeting portion of the evening. This meeting will be broadcasted and recorded for anyone who cannot make it in person. Legacy Solar Co-op is inviting all solar champions to shop local and shop solar this Holiday Season.
Gift solar renewable energy certificates (sRECs) as stocking stuffers to family and friends (or for yourself) and be entered in a January prize drawing!
We have a goal to retire 250 sRECs this holiday season, help us get there!

Legacy Solar Co-op attended the Earth Day Every Day: EV Car & Sustainability Show on Saturday April 23, 2022 from 10 am – 2 pm at the Middleton Community Church (645 Schewe Rd, Middleton, WI; off Old Sauk Rd). This family-friendly event was held outdoors with dozens of EVs parked in front of the church for attendees to engage with. LSC board members were inside manning the booth and talking sustainability with visitors. It was a lively event with free admission and free popcorn! Besides electric and hybrid cars, there were games for kids, an interactive solar panel display, and lots of tables and displays hosted by representatives from other clean energy and environmental organizations and businesses.

* Currently, we do not have any ballot measures or new directors to vote on or approve, but perhaps something will develop between now and then and we will notify all members with any actionable decisions that are known before the start of the meeting.
In-person attendees are expected to observe any Dane County mask mandate and sign-in upon arrival to signify membership status for LSC and vaccination status for COVID.

The solar installers participating in our Solar Group Buys can generally only schedule installs into early November. On Monday, March 29, the Co-op partnered with Thad Schumacher, founder and pharmacist at Fitchburg Pharmacy, to provide over 40 community members with COVID vaccinations! This pop-up vaccination location took place at Zion Faith Community in Madison, where the Co-op’s office is located.
The pharmacy continues to fulfill its mission of serving the Madison area with personal attention to individual needs.
Legacy Solar Co-op is announcing the launch of its Northwoods Solar Group Buy, in collaboration with Carlson Electric. This program offers homeowners, small businesses, and nonprofit organizations across northwest Wisconsin access to solar at lower rates than they can negotiate for themselves. It also gives residents in 17 counties the easy button through a recent financing option with greenpenny, a virtual and carbon-neutral bank dedicated to financing a sustainable tomorrow.
This opportunity is being offered in the following counties: Eau Claire, Chippewa, St. Croix, Douglas, Bayfield, Ashland, Iron, Burnett, Washburn, Sawyer, Price, Polk, Barron, Rusk, Dunn, Taylor, Clark.
