Our Impact
To date, we have helped finance, manage, or support almost 7 Megawatts of solar development behind-the-meter (distributed generation) in Wisconsin. By the end of 2024, we will have facilitated an additional 20 systems throughout the state.
We still have a long way to go to curb emissions and bring our state, our country, and our planet into a net carbon balance in our atmosphere that will limit the worst of climate change to 1.5 degrees Celsius. Every fraction of a degree fought for will save millions of lives. As members of the co-op, you are not only helping us provide a solar roadmap as an example for others, we are making our way down that road toward a cleaner future for all.
We are considering expanding our current board of directors, so let us know if you are interested in learning more. We will notify all members with any actionable decisions that are known before the start of the meeting.
Please note: Only one vote per member is allowed on any actionable motions that come up during the business meeting portion of the evening. Only members who receive a ballot before the meeting or who are in-person on the day of the meeting can cast votes.
Meeting Attendees: Enter to Win a $300.00 Solar Bond!
To enter, email info@legacysolarcoop.org or call / text Peter Fiala at 608-443-7820
We will be conducting a drawing for a $300.00 Slice-of-Sun solar bond that pays you 2% over two years with principal and interest after maturity.
All we are looking for is for participants to either give us a new project referral (a business or other organization that is interested in talking to us about adding solar) or several folks “liking” one of our pages.
The more referrals or likes, the more chances you have to win this $300 (plus interest) bond.
Entry Requirements: This is a drawing whereby you can qualify one entry or up to 10 entries* according to the following eligibility criteria:
- You must be a paid member of Legacy Solar Co-op;
- You must be a resident of the State of Wisconsin (your membership address);
- You must RSVP by December 9th, or be in attendance at our Annual Meeting, 6-8:30pm on December 12th
- Each entry must conform to one or more of the following:
- a. A Solar Project Consultation Referral equals one entry into the drawing.**
- b. Three (3) “Likes” on our Facebook page or our LinkedIn page equals one entry into drawing.***
That’s all there is to it. See you on the 12th. And, good luck!

*More than 10 and you should really be working with us and get paid properly for your work. : )
**REFERRAL ELIGIBILITY: This includes the name of the solar project / building owner (could be public or private) who would be interested in talking with Legacy about putting solar on their roof or ground space near their building. It could be your local library, your church, your grocery store, your business, a friend’s business, your neighbor’s sister’s business, your VFW, your Humane Society, on and on (you get the picture). Each referral requires an email or half-sheet of paper with the following information:
- Your name
- Name of organization or business
- Contact name
- Phone number and/or Email, and you and the contact person should “Like” our Facebook page or LinkedIn page or send us an introductory email to info@legacysolarcoop.org. We will confirm each of your entries before the event and put one folded half sheet of paper into the “hat” for the drawing for each confirmed referral. Referrals on the day of the event will need to provide #1-4 in order to be eligible.
***LIKES ELIGIBILITY: Send us your name and the list of folks you got to “Like” us on FB or LinkedIn by emailing us (Subject Line: “Likes for Legacy”) to Info@Legacysolarcoop.org or bring your list to the meeting to put into the hat. Note: we will use half-sheets 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ folded twice for the drawing.
****Winner must agree to terms of bond and sign acknowledgement form. See the Member Bond Disclosure Packet on our Slice of Sun Solar Bond Program page for more information.
More to come in 2025!
Our 2024 Annual Report will outline the Co-op’s successes and numbers of solar projects and kilowatts installed, kWhs saved, and much more about the economics of solar and the financial status and our goals and prognoses for attaining them going forward. 2024 is proving to be a very bright year for solar, and I hope you will join us in investing in more solar for our future and with that, do well by doing good.
