Installer Member Feature: Arch Electric

August 8, 2022/in Member Installers

For our latest Member Spotlight interview to interview Andrew Holmstrom from Arch Electric. Arch Electric is a family-owned solar installer operating out of Plymouth, Wisconsin. The company is run by Ed and Mindy Zinthefer and has been a LSC member since 2016.

Arch Electric’s ‘origin story’
Essentially, Ed and Mindy started the concept and outline of what is now Arch Electric off the back porch of their farmhouse. Ed’s electrical contracting services were taking off and the couple envisioned a solar company where they could add value to a burgeoning market. Hear more about Arch Electric’s story here.

Tell us about Arch Electric’s operations
There are four different business units to the Arch Electric model: Commercial and Utility scale solar, Residential solar, Operations and Maintenance (of solar systems) and the electrical team that covers battery storage and electric vehicle charging. Andrew Holmstrom (Commercial and Industrial team) likes that the work environment is positive, close-knit, and dedicated to training and education.

Arch Electric tackles different types of projects, tell us more about that
The different business teams are all focused on getting more efficient, and Arch Electric’s vision was to be open to all types of jobs and opportunities. Each team knows their field inside and out and excels at being mindful of particular wants/needs of a client. Although there is a standard operating procedure for everyone and processes are integrated, each team accommodates for the nuances in the field.

What does your team think about from one install to the next
In the commercial market it’s all about pushing the envelope and being on the cutting edge of what we are willing to try and improving best practices. We continue to strive to the optimum and learn from different surface and roof types to provide the most solar generation to our customers.

What do your customers appreciate most about your work?
We put the customer first. From the moment a contract is signed, we are dedicated to seeing that particular project through, meeting the customer’s goals and expectations, and counseling customers on the best value and orientation. We know it’s a job, but we feel more like a partner with our customers.

Tell us about making an impact in your communities…
We are making a difference to provide low-carbon electricity to our customers, but in addition to that, we have some amazing employees who are dedicated to making an impact in their communities outside of work too. Employees contribute to RENEW WI, MREA, the Wisconsin Sustainable Business Council, and many more grassroots organizations in our hometowns. As a company, Arch Electric is proud to meet with roofers, construction companies, and manufacturers to discuss gaps in knowledge, best practices, and how all the companies working within Wisconsin’s infrastructure can work together to build a more sustainable future.
