Solar panels for Curative Connections

Curative Connections

July 5, 2023/in Projects

LOCATION:  Green Bay, Wisconsin   |   CAPACITY:  280 kW   |   COMPLETION DATE: January 2023

SOLAR CONTRACTOR:

Eland Electric Corp Logo

Curative Connections is a non-profit in Brown County, Wisconsin that helps seniors and adults with disabilities navigate options that support their goals for independence through a proactive approach to care and a clear focus on individual needs. Founded in 1948, they are a mission-driven and values-focused organization supporting a culture of gentleness.

The Challenge

Curative Connections considered solar energy to reduce costs, reduce their carbon footprint and because they wanted to serve as responsible leaders for environmental stewardship. Working with the project lead, Eland Electric, Legacy Solar Co-op was recommended as a resource.

Solar Solution

Legacy Solar Co-op assisted Curative Connections with grant applications, contracts and completing tax sponsor pro formas and contracts. The solar solution they settled on was a 280 kW, ground mounted, bi-facial panel system.

Outcome

Curative Connections were able to install an array of solar panels, which will provide up to 50% or more of their electricity needs for the next 20 plus years.

Jeanne Stangel of Curative Connections reports: We were able to power our entire 166,000 square foot facility on a full sunny day and even generate excess power back to the grid. We would recommend others to research the benefits and potential savings to their organization. We hope that others follow our lead and the example Curative Connections sets to be environmentally friendly.

Testimonials

“Legacy Solar Co-op was a wonderful resource to successfully help us navigate through the process of securing a tax sponsors and connecting us to state and federal grant opportunities.”
